Statement

When something devastating happens, memories become obstructed and yet, we hold on to them regardless of their demeanour. This work is a personal reflection of the rituals we conjure and impose on ourselves as coping mechanisms in times of struggle. Be they beneficial or destructive, we can find comfort in the repetitive and the predictable.

But beneath the regimes flows life, volatile and uncontained, acting on its own, outside of our control. The work attempts to sift through veiled thoughts and recollections to piece together actuality. But much like with our memories, often the details we want to see most are the ones hidden away from view.
